Planters made with Recycled Plastic Lumber (RPL) are typically less expensive and require almost no maintenance. Premium Woodgrain adds about 3% to the RPL price.

Planting mediums for container gardening are as varied as local climates and plant species. Here in Florida, we can get 6” of rain in a day in the rainy season, so we need a quick draining material and we often add perlite. If you have a dry climate, you may need to add more vermiculite to retain water. Since Florida also has a dry season where it my not rain for a month or more at a time, we use drip irrigation, as the planting medium we use for the rainy season dries out far too quickly during the dry season. DeepStream Designs builds all Planters to order, and we can build almost any size from 18” – 72” long and 12” – 72” wide. We stock three standard leg heights: 21”, 31” and 42″.
As you have seen in the examples above, DeepStream also has a proprietary marine-anodized structural T-leg which we use to build modular Long Wood Garden Planters when larger or longer sizes are needed. We also stock taller extrusions to hold planter-anchored screen wall, from 48″ – 84″ – 144″ tall.
We can build wood planters in a variety of materials, from solid tropical hardwoods (Jatoba, Ipe and Cumaru) to Recycled Plastic Lumber (RPL – five solid colors with embossed woodgrain and four new premium variegated Woodgrain colors). To gain an insight into pricing, the table below shows budget pricing* for fifteen stock sizes of stand-alone planters (price includes planter liner and drain filter pack). We offer a 5% discount for 5-9 units, 10% discount for 10+ units.
Planters made with Recycled Plastic Lumber (RPL) are typically less expensive and require almost no maintenance. Premium Woodgrain adds about 3% to the RPL price.

While there are volume discounts, there is never a design fee, or custom fee. Custom planters really do not cost more, but prices vary depending on size, material yields, and set up times. You may also need a custom-welded planter liner which will cost more than a stock planter liner.

When selecting your outdoor garden planters, keep in mind that drainage is critical to the health of your plants grown in containers, and it is very difficult to remedy after the fact.

Planting mediums for container gardening are as varied as local climates and plant species. Here in Florida, we can get 6” of rain in a day in the rainy season, so we need a quick draining material and we often add perlite. If you have a dry climate, you may need to add more vermiculite to retain water. Since Florida also has a dry season where it my not rain for a month or more at a time, we use drip irrigation, as the planting medium we use for the rainy season dries out far too quickly during the dry season.
